Q: Do you offer short sets?

A: In general, no. For example, suppose Australia issued a set of 5 stamps with 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, $1, and $5 denominations. Some dealers only offer the first 3 or 4 stamps from this set because the cost is less, say $5 for this set which is "short" one or more stamps. A complete set may cost, say, $12. Any short sets I have are clearly identified as such. To follow through on my pledge to you to build a quality stamp collection that you can be proud of that contains material not found in ordinary collections, I prefer not to offer short sets.

Q: Do you offer covers or First Day Covers on approval?

A: Sorry, no. Stamps keep me busy enough.

Q: How do I pay for items I keep?

A: I accept cash, checks (payable to "Scott A. Shaulis"), or money orders. I also accept all major credit cards on purchases of $20 or more.

Q: How long have you been in business?

A: I've been a part time stamp dealer since 2004 when I finished my MBA at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. I'm a software engineer by profession and I manage a software development group for a large fortune 500 company. I work on the stamp business in the evenings and weekends.

Q: Are you a stamp collector too?

A: Yes! I started collecting in 1977 at the age of 12. I still actively collect stamps, although I don't have as much time as I used to. I collect US stamps, France, precancel stamps, Mailer's Precancel Postmarks, and I have a small collection of other worldwide stamps too.

Q: What are the APS and ASDA logos that I see on your website.

A: The American Philatelic Society (APS) is the national philatelic organization with thousands of stamp collector members. I'm a recognized dealer member of the APS. You can find out more about the APS here. The American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) is the professional organization of stamp dealers. I've been a member of the ASDA since I started dealing in stamps. You can find out more about the ASDA here.
